HAPPY MAY Y'ALL!
I cannot be the only person that LOVES this warm weather and longer days! This sunshine is making it easy to love outdoor advertising, too!
I want to focus this month on why billboard advertising is a great way to invest your advertising dollars, especially during the upcoming months! Now, I am slightly biased to billboard advertising, but for good reason!
Let's start shall we!
1- Billboard Advertising is FUN! Billboards are no longer just a plain ole vinyl on a big ole sign! We can do so many fun things with our digital billboards, but also with our static ones! Our digital billboards offer a wide variety of features such as, live countdowns, live scoring, day parting, weather triggered ads and more! And the best part about this is... NO ADDITIONAL COSTS to do as many of these as you want! Or to change your ad as much as you want! Our static billboards may not seem as fun as the digital, but don't jump to conclusions so soon! We just recently put a smoke machine on a billboard to make a smoking cigar for Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse. We can add extensions to your boards to grab more attention and give you more space for you ad! We put 3D extensions on your billboards to make them pop, see what I did there?!
2- You advertise 24/7, literally! With billboard advertising, there is no guessing on whether your ad played at the promised time or that you got as many spots on air. Once your advertisement is up on our billboards, it is there for the entire duration of your campaign! You can drive by your board at 7 am, 12 pm, 6 pm, and 2 am, and guess what, there you are! Now most of our boards are illuminated from dusk till 11 pm anyways, but these longer and warmer days help with more than illumination! This time of year you have kids' sports practices, patio dinners, and just all around more outdoor activities! Which in turn means, more people out in their cars and driving...past billboards!
3- We know your audience! Do you ever wonder how these advertising medias, including us, get those impression numbers? Well, I am going to freak you out, but I am going to tell you how we get ours. Cellphone data. We use a third party company called Geopath, that gives us a general impression number and we can narrow down from there. They collect data from cellphone companies that gives us the exact traffic patterns for each billboard. Ever wonder why we say, you want your billboards to capture people where they live, work and play? It is because we can do just that! It may take us a little bit to get the data, but if you want a billboard that reaches Females, ages 25-50, household income of $50k and up, has at least one kid, and is looking for a new car, guess what? We can narrow it down that close for you! So yeah, now that I have freaked you out, lets move on.
4- Cheapest Cost per Thousand! I hate the word cheap because I think it devalues things, but that word catches peoples attention! If you compare the monthly impressions of your billboard to the cost, you will find that Out of Home Advertising will 9/10 times beat the cost per thousand against radio and tv ads. And, for those who don't know what cost per thousand means (cause I had no idea till a few years ago, no shame), it means the price of 1,000 advertisement impressions. So for example, let's say you have a Lexington bulletin and pay $3000 per 4 weeks and it delivers 192,721 weekly impressions. Your cost per thousand for this is $3.90. That is pretty dang cheap.
5- Customer Service! I take great pride in what I do, but also your business. I love talking to my clients and not only learning about their business, but more so, them! I try to be a service that not only offers billboard advertising, but also marketing help with no strings attached! I love what I do and the people I do it for! I try my best to offer things to my clients outside of billboards that I think would help their business!
Thank you for taking the time to read this months newsletter! If I just sold you on the idea of billboard advertising or at least got the wheels rolling, give me a call!
Have a great day!
